Adjustable flipper lenses with a sliding scale to adapt to a person’s inter-pupillary distance.

Description

These adjustable flippers have binocular, spherical plus/minus lenses with a sliding scale to adapt to a person’s inter-pupillary distance. The frame will adjust between 4.25cm and 8.5cm to match a large range of inter-pupillary distances, which is important to avoid any prismatic effect from decentred lenses during binocular testing of accommodative flexibility.

Our Adjustable flippers made with quality glass spherical lenses in sturdy plastic frames. They are available in four lens powers commonly used for the diagnosis and treatment of accommodative defects and can quickly be flipped from plus to minus during testing for accommodative flexibility. The lens power is printed on the product.

±1.00 DS, ±1.50 DS, ±2.00 DS, ±3.00 DS

The +/-2.00 DS is used to measure accommodative flexibility during a timed reading check. The other lenses are used to treat the condition by practising with a small sphere and increasing the lens strength used.

+/- 3.00 DS flippers are useful in orthoptic practise for diagnostic tests and measurements.
