The SpotChecks™ Contrast Sensitivity Chart, formally known as CamBlobs™, was newly designed by Dr. John Robson to be an inexpensive alternative for patients to self-monitor their disease progression in between appointments and is suitable to various patient populations.

The tests are single use and patients test themselves by marking an “x” on each contrast target they see. Testing is intuitive, only takes 2-3 minutes to complete, and scoring the results is very easy. The test sheet then becomes a record for the patient file. Full instructions can be downloaded here.

The score range and reproducibility of the SpotChecks™ chart agrees remarkably well with those of the Pelli-Robson (PR) CS chart – the reference standard in research and clinical trials for many years.
