Pelli-Robson Trans-Illuminated Contrast Sensitivity Charts

Pelli-Robson Trans-Illuminated Contrast Sensitivity Charts are identical to the original Pelli-Robson Contrast Sensitivity Charts.
These charts cover ¾ of the original contrast range, are manufactured to the same true log steps and use the same Sloan letters and letter sizes as the originals.

The chart designated for Low Vision uses the upper 12 contrast levels ranging from 0 – 1.65 Log CS (100% – 2.2% Weber).
The chart designated for Peak Contrast Sensitivity uses the lower 12 contrast levels ranging from 0.6 – 2.25 Log CS (25% – 0.56% Weber).

Trans-illumination has the advantage of uniform fixed illumination and eliminates the need for staging the room and verifying chart luminance with room lighting. These charts fit the ETDRS Illuminator Cabinet™ (63cm x 65.5cm x 17.8cm) and require a 85 cd/m2 lamp filter.

The Pelli-Robson Trans-Illuminated Contrast Sensitivity Charts are manufactured to tolerances better than the accepted standard of /- .05 Log CS. The A and B versions of each chart show different letter sets to minimise memorisation.
