Description

The Kay Picture Test Screening Book is a compact A5 size book comprising an abridged single-crowded and linear-crowded picture vision testing option for vision screening.
In addition, it comprises distance LogMAR sizing from 1.0 to -0.10 at three metres, plus it includes a single crowded near vision test card and a matching card.

There is a choice of three or four single crowded picture optotypes at each acuity size (apart from at 1.0, which are uncrowded). Further, sizes 0.3 to -0.1 have both single crowded and a linear row of five pictures per page to suit all ages from as young as 18 months to school age.

The Kay Picture Test Screening Book is packaged in a frosted PVC wallet with flap closure for safe storage in between uses.

Our fully researched picture optotypes provide a reliable visual acuity measurement comparable with ETDRS. Read a summary of the research here and visit BIOJ for the published research behind the redevelopment of our optotypes.

Cleaning

The encapsulated front and back covers of the books are fully sealed, edge-to-edge. The covers can be cleaned with an anti-bacterial agent or perhaps even an alcohol-based cleaner. The only area where this plasticised covering is compromised is at the holes for the spiral binding, so extra care should be taken to not allow liquid to leak into the holes.

The inner pages are laminated and not sealed at the ends. Any liquid that penetrates underneath the laminate will eventually discolour the pages and potentially lead to the sheets de-laminating at the edges. Anti-bacterial wipes could be used very carefully, whilst paying close attention not to get the edges too damp.

Testimonials

“In every hospital I’ve worked, Kays Picture Test has been the gold standard test for paediatric acuity.”
